FAQ
Is the Eskaip suitable for both beginners and athletes?
Yes. It can be used to discover cross-country skiing, go for a walk or train regularly. Its many adjustments let you change the position as your needs evolve. The choice of seat and any assistance depends on the skier's abilities and the planned route.
Which settings can be adjusted?
Height, seat angle and center of gravity are adjustable. The footrest is adjusted with a pin and comes in three lengths: short, standard and long. These adjustments let you adapt the sit-ski to your body and the position you want.
Can I reuse my TESSIER alpine ski seat?
Yes, the Eskaip is compatible with the seats used on TESSIER alpine sit-skis. This means you can keep a seat already suited to your body. A fabric Nordic seat, available in sizes S and L with an adjustable backrest, is another option, especially for clubs and organizations.
Which skis and bindings can be used?
The Eskaip offers mounting solutions for cross-country skiing. Since 2026, the universal binding makes the Eskaip compatible with all cross-country skis and bindings on the market, whatever the standard: NNN, Prolink, Turnamic and others. You keep your own equipment, with no drilling or gluing, and clipping in is as simple as in standing cross-country skiing.
Two mounting options are available depending on your setup:
– 2-point attachment: two bindings placed opposite each other on the plate, as on the previous version of the Eskaip.
– Front attachment with anti-tilt support: the sit-ski is attached at the front of the binding, with an adjustable support that absorbs the forces toward the rear.
For a club or association already equipped for cross-country skiing, this means there is only one frame to buy.
Are brakes included?
Brakes are available as an option. They let you control your speed on downhill and remain compact so the skier's movements are not restricted. Whether you need them depends on how you ski, the terrain and the level of assistance you want.
Can you ski with a companion?
Yes. The companion can help by pushing with poles on the rear plate designed for this purpose, particularly on uphill sections. A pulka-type towing solution is also available. The route and the organization of the outing must suit the abilities of both the skier and the companion.
What does it weigh, and do the skis fit in the tracks?
The frame with footrest weighs 3.5 kg without brakes or 4.9 kg with brakes. The seat and skis are additional. The ski spacing is designed for Nordic ski tracks, so you can enjoy trails groomed for classic skiing.
