The Tessier Company

The beginnings

While working at a holiday center in Saint-Sorlin D’Arves, Pierre TESSIER meets members of the Association des Paralysés de France (IEM d’Hérouville-Saint-Clair), who are developing a sit-ski so that children can experience the joys of gliding on snow.

A passionate skier and mechanic, Pierre TESSIER joins the project to improve the equipment and the training in how to operate this device, which is the “ancestor” of the Tandemski.

Pierre Tessier clears space in his barn and sets up his welding station to work on prototypes, first for fun and then professionally.

Founding of the Tessier company

After developing a system allowing the equipment to be used on chairlifts, Pierre TESSIER decides to start his own company.

Articulated Sit-Ski – FSA

The Tandemski is the first sit-ski made by Tessier.

Its unique concept opens up the possibility for everyone to ski and experience intense sensations.

It has not been manufactured since 2013, replaced by the Tandem’Flex

Invention of the Dual Ski

Pierre Tessier invents a new, high-performance 2-ski concept for people with lower-limb paralysis: the Dualski.

For years it is the company’s flagship product, and he files a patent for it.

Uniski

Simpler in design than the Dualski but more widespread at the time (although still marginal), the Tessier Uniski won over many skiers.

Workshop in Saint-Jean de Maurienne

As the barn converted into a workshop in St Sorlin d’Arves was no longer big enough, TESSIER moves into a workshop in St Jean de Maurienne.

Vertical Flex Concept – VFC

The VFC is technical equipment that meets the expectations of high-level Dualski and Uniski skiers.

At the time, this device was one of the best of its generation.

(It has not been manufactured since 2010, replaced by the Scarver)

Piloted Dualski

Creation of the first steering bar, making it possible to convert a Dualski into a Piloted Dualski, making it even more versatile.

At the time, this system offered unique possibilities and comfort for dependent or semi-dependent skiers.

Kartski

The Kartski gives more independence to people who cannot ski alone in a Uniski or Dualski.

Based on a principle developed in France in the 1980s, the Tessier Kartski is a unique product that can be used on chairlifts (like all Tessier sit-ski products).

(It has not been manufactured since 2015, replaced by the Snow’Kart)

New workshop in Saint-Rémy-de-Maurienne

With the growth in activity, the St Jean de Maurienne workshop was no longer big enough.

TESSIER moves into a new building better suited to its activity.

Scarver

After 3 years of development, launch of the SCARVER: the first and only competition Uniski on which all the important parameters for a high-level skier are adjustable.

It is still one of the best frames on the market today, with numerous international podiums (European Cup, World Cup, World Championships…), a win at the X-Games and many freeride feats.

Cimgo

TESSIER launches the CIMGO: the Tessier range diversifies with the first all-terrain tandem wheelchair.

Tandem’Flex

After 17 years of production and regular improvements, the TANDEMSKI makes way for the Tandem’Flex

Lighter, more comfortable and higher-performing; it is a total success, for pilots and passengers alike!

Tempo Dualski and Tempo Uniski

Launch of the Tempo Dualski, in Solo and Duo versions, and the Tempo Uniski.

These products replace the Dualski Loisir and Uniski Loisir.

Snow’Kart

The Kartski makes way for the SnowKart.

Easier, higher-performing, more stable, simpler on the chairlift, more modular with adult, child and Easydrive levers… Nothing but improvements!

Swaik

After several prototypes developed and tested in 2015 with the best riders in the world, launch of the first series of the Swaik, a frame unique for its adjustment options and the Full-Flex system.

Tempo Access

Launch of the Tempo Access.

The easiest and lowest uniski on the market!

Ideal for beginners, people with limited balance and children.

Eskaip

Born from a collaborative project, the Eskaip, the first fully adjustable sled for cross-country skiing, is launched!

New premises at Alpespace

Move to new, larger premises at Alpespace (Sainte Hélène du Lac), located at the crossroads between Grenoble, Chambéry and Albertville.

Expansion of the range into electric mobility

Launch of our electric 2-wheel-drive all-terrain wheelchair!

Trialp V2

The Trialp has been redesigned with a new frame and electrical architecture, and now features 3-wheel drive!

Handover of the TESSIER company
