FAQ
Who is the Tandem’Flex for?
It is designed for people who cannot or do not wish to pilot sit-ski equipment themselves. It can accommodate passengers with significant support needs. The installation, support and choice of outing are adapted to each person's needs.
Does the passenger have to take part in piloting?
No. Piloting is handled by the trained companion. The passenger can enjoy gliding without having to steer the device. This approach sets the Tandem’Flex apart from solutions in which the sitskiers actively contributes to steering.
What is the maximum passenger weight?
The Tandem’Flex carries a passenger weighing up to 130 kg. Its lifting assistance and locking features make the pilot's safety maneuvers easier. The choice of seat and the transfer conditions must be assessed according to the passenger's build and support needs.
What training is required to pilot it?
A specific training is mandatory. Several formats are available: 4.5 days, 6 days or two 5-day courses, depending on the pathway. It prepares you for piloting, installing the passenger, safety maneuvers and using ski lifts. Contact us to find out about partner organizations and the pathway that fits your project.
Can you use chairlifts?
Yes, the Tandem’Flex features an assisted lifting system and locks designed for this use. Boarding and disembarking procedures are part of the pilot's training. Access conditions must be checked with the ski area and depend on the lifts used.
What terrain can you explore?
The Tandem’Flex can be used on groomed runs and in fresh snow. The choice of terrain depends on the pilot's training, the passenger's abilities and the conditions. A special outing or an off-piste route requires appropriate planning; the equipment's capabilities do not replace an assessment of the route.
What is the difference from the Tempo Duo?
The Tandem’Flex is designed for assisted skiing, with no participation required from the passenger, with a capacity of up to 130 kg and mandatory training. The Tempo Duo can accommodate a sit-skier weighing up to 90 kg, can allow active participation and offers the option of a Solo configuration with the appropriate equipment.
The Tandem also makes it possible to carry heavier people for longer periods, while reducing the physical strain on the pilot.
What are the weight and size of the Tandem’Flex?
The stated weight is 49 kg, with possible variations depending on the equipment. The handlebar is adjustable to adapt the pilot's position. Contact our team to check the dimensions of your configuration and arrange transport or storage at your facility.
