Tandem’Flex and Tempo Duo Training 2026-2027

Tandem'Flex and Tempo Duo Training 2026-2027

Would you like to learn how to pilot a Tandem’Flex or a Tempo Duo to accompany a loved one or people with disabilities on the slopes? Several TESSIER partner organizations offer formations piloting training courses during the 2026-2027 winter season.

Whether you are an individual, a volunteer or a mountain professional, discover the differences between these two courses and the upcoming sessions to prepare for your season!

Tandem’Flex training: a mandatory step to become a pilot

The Tandem’Flex allows people who cannot ski independently to enjoy the thrill of gliding. Positioned behind the passenger, the pilot has full control of the device.

To pilot a Tandem’Flex, specific training is mandatory.

This training teaches you how to handle the equipment, seat the passenger and use ski lifts. It also covers safety rules, technical adjustments and piloting techniques on different types of slopes.

Several programs are available depending on your experience:

  • Short program – 4.5 days: for mountain professionals.
  • Intermediate program – 6 days: for experienced skiers who meet the prerequisites, such as federal instructors, holders of the TESSIER accreditation for the piloted Dualski/Tempo Duo, or FFH alpine ski assistants or initiators.
  • Long program – 2 x 5 days: for families, volunteers and staff of specialized facilities.

At the end of the training, TESSIER issues a piloting accreditation card, subject to the trainer's validation of the trainee's level.

Tandem'Flex and Tempo Duo 2026-2027 formations

Tempo Duo training: 7 hours to learn how to assist

The Tempo Duo lets you enjoy the thrill of skiing with the help of a companion. Depending on their abilities and level of independence, the sitskiers can also actively take part in piloting the device.

Unlike the Tandem’Flex, Tempo Duo training is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend it..

Indeed, a good skiing level is not always enough to master the specifics of a piloted sit-ski device.

The training teaches you in particular how to:

  • Seat and assist the passenger.
  • Master turns, braking and the various piloting techniques.
  • Use ski lifts.
  • Adjust and maintain the equipment.

We recommend a minimum of 7 hours of training, or even more depending on the trainee's level and experience.

As with the Tandem’Flex, TESSIER issues an accreditation card after validation by the trainer.
